Lead Consultant, Founder
Steve Watts has been a successful entrepreneur and has helped many companies develop sound business practices over the past 30 years. Since 2007, Steve has used his real estate background to assist well over 300 property management companies with the implementation and optimization of Propertyware. With over 20,000 hours on the platform, Steve has developed workflows and processes which help his clients manage their assets more efficiently. In addition, his trust accounting expertise ensures clients are compliant and tending to their bottom line.
Steve graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an Accounting major. Steve currently lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota with his wife Kim and their five children. Kim is a real estate broker and also has extensive experience in property management. Their whole family has an active lifestyle and they enjoy spending summer weekends relaxing at their cabin in Western Wisconsin.
Misty De La Rosa has worked in real estate in one aspect or another for over ten years, with numerous companies. She has held many positions within construction, property management and her true passion, accounting. Prior to joining Smart Business Consultants, she was the Corporate Controller for a national multi-family development and property management company.
She was first exposed to Propertyware in 2009 when working for a start-up company. Misty loves a challenge and this was nothing short of that. Shortly after self-learning the property management system, she was responsible for developing and training the company’s new employees. This of course was in addition to the company’s day to day accounting tasks.
Misty graduated from Texas A&M University with a Masters in Real Estate Finance. She currently lives in Katy (suburb of Houston, TX) and has one son, Aden. When gifted with free time, she enjoys traveling, binge watching television series or football when it is on, and two-stepping.
Misty De La Rosa
Kimberly Dion began her career fresh out of high school at an accounting firm where she was introduced to Quality Control Auditing. This sparked her interest for data organization and numbers, opening an opportunity for her in the real estate industry in 1995. Her experience in property management began in 2012 when she took the role of Bookkeeper at a successful property management company in California.
Intrigued with Propertyware's software platform, Kimberly was amazed at all the capabilities that were not being utilized by her employer. She took it as her mission to learn the software inside and out. Kimberly's valued "client perspective" lead to frequent interaction with Propertyware's development team. Within a short time, she was called the "Propertyware Guru" by many. She began developing smoother workflow processes, and was able to conceive detailed ways to use the software, even beyond it's intended use.
Serving a variety of businesses over the past two decades as office manager, accountant, business organizer, and company image consultant. Her passion is helping small businesses thrive.
Kimberly currently lives in Loveland, Colorado. In her spare time, she enjoys the scenic views of the Rocky Mountains with her husband, David and dog, Harley. She has a deep love for God, family and country.
Jessica Brockway began her career in her parents’ family owned business, right after high school. Discovering she had a passion for small business and a love of problem solving, she pursued her degree in Accounting. Though she is relatively new to the real estate industry, she has 15 years’ experience in the field of accounting and has worked most recently as an outsourced controller for various small businesses. Jessica is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and specializes in cost reduction analysis, job costing, and financial reviews.
Jessica lives in Indianapolis with her three sons and their dog, Bentley. When she isn’t cheering for one of her boys at a football game or a wrestling match, she can be found hiking, camping, rock climbing, or working on a various art project.
Cherie Seibel has worked in all levels of accounting for over 40 years. Even though she is new to the Real Estate business, Cherie has experience in a wide range of business types including retail, wholesale, and service industries as well as construction (job costing).
Whereas normally hired as a Controller or Accounting Manager, Cherie has always been a very “hands-on” accountant, dealing in all levels of accounting including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, inventory, budgets, and financials.
Her last position before semi-retirement was an Inventory Analyst Specialist, a position she took upon the request of the president of her company when that department was in terrible condition and continuing to deteriorate. She was able to completely turn it around in a very short time.
Cherie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas in El Paso.
